What is Direct Mail Marketing?

One thing that comes as a surprise to most business owners is that Direct Mail Marketing is both affordable and effective.

When people think of Direct Mail, 39¢ per piece is what comes to mind. When in fact, a Direct Mail Marketing program can be easily designed for only 17¢ per piece!

Direct Mail Marketing gives the business owner the precise control over exactly which parts of particular zip codes he or she would like to target. A Direct Mail Marketing Program is successful with careful planning and repetition.

Why does it cost only 17¢ per piece?

Standard Mail or what was once known as Bulk Rate is pre-sorted for the post office so that they don't have to pay mail handlers to do so, therefore, offering a greater postage discount.

We add a bar code to the address line for computer automation and purchase USPS approved addresses which are sequenced in the order the house/business is delivered to, which offers an even greater discount.

What is the minimum number of pieces that I can mail?

Saturation Mailings are mailings in which pieces are delivered to every stop on a particular route in a specific zip code. To receive the maximum discount of 17¢ per piece, you must mail at least 4,000 pieces to one zip code. Lower counts are available at slightly higher prices.

1000 - 2000 pieces: 20¢ each

2001 - 4000 pieces: 18.5¢ each

4000 + pieces: 17¢ each

Non- Saturation Mailings are designated as mailings in which pieces are not delivered to every stop on a particular route in a specific zip code. If you want to select a certain type of consumer or business or be selective to which addresses or demographics your mail piece is delivered, the following price structure is used.

1000 - 2000 pieces: 26¢ each

2001 - 4000 pieces: 24¢ each

4000 + pieces: 22.5¢ each
